SCHEDULE & CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
April 9th Van Gogh's Sunflowers
In this class, we will briefly discuss Van Gogh's unique painting
technique, the various sunflower paintings he created, and how
all of his versions varied slightly. With the use of acrylics and
sunflowers in vases as a guide, students will create their own
pieces of artwork mimicking his style.
April 23rd "Garden Pets"!
Using large, smooth river rocks students will create two - because
every garden pet needs a friend of their own! In this class
students will watch a demonstration, then create their very own
pet rocks using acrylics, feathers, googly eyes, pipe cleaners,
puff balls & more...Rock On!
May 7th Monet's Bridge & Water Lilies
In this class, Monet's "Impressionistic" style will be explored and
how the simplicity of basic brushstrokes creates peaceful art. A
brief history of his years spent painting in his garden will be
included. Students will create their own beautiful bridges and
water lilies using 11"x14" canvas boards, pastels, and acrylics!
May 21st Flower Power - Watch out Georgia O'Keefe!
Students will create happy flower paintings using colorful fabrics
and acrylics on 12"x12" canvases wrapped on wood frames. First,
students will be instructed in the use of "Mod Podge" to
decoupage the fabrics onto canvases. Acrylics will be added for
brightness and texture...ribbons added for hanging!
